New Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim must be given the time to instil his tactical philosophy at the club, according to Paul Scholes.

With Erik ten Hag's chapter closed and interim coach Ruud van Nistelrooy poised to make way, Amorim will officially take over at Old Trafford on Monday.

And the departing Sporting CP manager has only enhanced his credentials with a rout of Manchester City in the Champions League.

Amorim, 39, is tipped to introduce a new system promoting three central defenders, which has served his Sporting side so well in recent years.
