Teddy Sheringham has brushed off Paul Scholes' criticism of Manchester United's imminent signing of Matthijs de Ligt from Bayern Munich.
The 25-year-old centre-back, who recently fell out of favour at the German club, is set to join the Red Devils in a £43million deal.
He was spotted in Manchester on Monday evening for a medical at Carrington. De Ligt, who moved to Bayern from Juventus in 2022, is now set for another transfer - this time to the north west of England.
He will be Erik ten Hag's third major summer signing, following Leny Yoro's £58m move from Lille and Joshua Zirkzee's £36.5m switch from Bologna.
