Paul Feig is once again setting the record straight on A Simple Favor 2. On Friday (January 10), the 62-year-old filmmaker shut down speculation that the sequel to the 2018 movie had been shelved due to a rumored feud between Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick.

The same X user that shared the speculation then questioned why there hasn’t been any other updates on when the movie would be released. “Hi Paul, if my story is ‘false,’ could you clarify why Amazon hasn’t set a release date for a film that wrapped in April 2024?” the user wrote. “Why are there no promo plans yet?
