Passengers' confusion after Manchester Airport flights delayed due to Queen's funeral

Passengers travelling in and out of Manchester Airport have been left confused this morning after their flights were delayed for hours due to the Queen's funeral.

The Manchester Evening News understands that flights out of and into the city hub were paused between 11.40am and 12.10pm today as a mark of respect for Her Majesty the Queen.

But travellers scheduled to fly during the temporary suspension say they had flights delayed for hours - despite the halt only lasting 30 minutes. She received a message from him at 11.27am saying he was about to take off - but he was stuck on the tarmac until 12.55pm. "It seems longer than it should have been," Gigi said.
