Passenger's Nico Mirallegro looks unrecognisable in ITV drama after finding fame in Hollyoaks
ok.co.ukITV’s brand-new drama, Passenger, aired on Monday 25 with lots of familiar faces. However, one of the actors left viewers wondering where they had seen him before thanks to his very different appearance on previous shows.
Actor Nico Mirallegro plays Kane Jackson in Passenger, but fans of his will know he started his career in Hollyoaks, and has gone on to star in My Mad Fat Diary, Our Girl, Ridley - and is currently filming for Paramount series, Stags.
Nico starred in Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks all the way back in 2007 as Barry Newton - but went by the name ‘Newt’. Nico’s character, Newt, arrived in Hollyoaks as the foster son of Jack and Frankie Osborne - and foster brother of Darren Osborne (Ashley Taylor-Dawson).
Nico played Newt for three years and had a few big storylines and in 2010, Newt left Hollyoaks for Scotland. In an interview Nico said: “Hollyoaks is where I learnt a lot of the craft, being in front of a camera six days a week. ‘That’s certainly an experience you don’t get in drama school.
