Calvin Buckley - partner of the late Hollyoaks actress Frankie Jules-Hough who was tragically killed in a car crash in May - has spoken out for the first time over his heartache.
Speaking to Good Morning Britain hosts Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley this morning, Calvin claims that his family have been "let down" by the courts, something that has left him unable to grieve the death of the soap star, who played Jess Holt in the soap. "They always talk about death by dangerous driving isn't intentional, nobody goes out to do that," he said on the early-morning news show. "But when you're driving at that speed and taking that level of risk, and you're intentionally breaking laws, and risking people's lives, that is just as bad in my opinion.
What else does someone have to do to see it as a life sentence?" Frankie was 18 weeks pregnant with her third child, an unborn daughter that she and Calvin had named Neeve, at the time of her death.
Adil Iqbal was driving at a speed of 123mph, with one hand on the wheel and another filming the road ahead, when he crashed into beloved soap star Frankie, later being initially sentenced to 12 years in prison.
