Blair Malcolm says a connection with former Partick Thistle coach Scott MacKenzie helped get him back in the senior game with Albion Rovers. The 24-year-old endured a frustrating time at Lowland League club East Kilbride, but is glad to given a platform to show what he can do.And Malcolm, who can also slot into a defensive role, says it's good having a management team who believe in him, having been brought in by boss Brian Reid on assistant MacKenzie's recommendation.Malcolm, who says he's ready to be thrown in to the League Two clash against Stenhousemuir on Saturday, said: "I know Scotty well, I know how he conducts himself and it's good to be working with him again."He's a good coach, and I liked his training sessions and what-not, so it was quite an easy decision."It's always good to know you've got a manager who thinks highly of you."I'm delighted with the move.
It was OK at East Kilbride, just a bit frustrating over lack of game-time and what-not, but I'm delighted to be back in the senior ranks."It's a good platform, there are very good teams in League Two."It's a difficult league, I've played there before at Cowdenbeath, so I know what it's all about."I'm ready for it."Follow Lanarkshire Live Sport onTwitter via@LanLiveSport, like us onFacebookor find us onInstagramfor the latest sports news, pictures and video.
