Jessica Ann Johnson (born July 10, 1980) is an American singer, actress, fashion designer, and author. After performing in church choirs as a child, Simpson signed with Columbia Records in 1997, at age 16. Her debut studio album, Sweet Kisses (1999), sold two million copies in the United States and saw the commercial success of the single "I Wanna Love You Forever". After describing how Solomon (allegedly) pressured her into filming the sexual encounter and then profited from the tape's release, Hilton's book details the relentless public shaming that followed.

Pink's song, with lyrics belittling “porno paparazzi girls” and a music video that included a scene parodying the grainy sex tape, is just one particularly poignant example. “The whole video is a not-at-all-subtle send-up of ‘porno paparazzi girls’ in general and, specifically, me, in a parody of my infamous sex tape,” Hilton writes, per . “When everyone was buzzing about a sex tape of a certain teenage girl from a soon-to-be-hit TV show—a girl who said emphatically over and over that she did not want the tape out there—the takeaway was ‘Stupid Girl.’”Paris Hilton was hardly the only in the “Stupid Girls” video, which also mocked Jessica Simpson, , and Mary-Kate Olsen.
