PAOK are off the hook with UEFA over claims Aberdeen striker Pape Habib Gueye was racially abused by their fans. Record Sport has learned European football’s governing body have closed their investigation into the allegations with no charges to be brought against the Greek club.
Furious Dons chiefs had made an official complaint to the match delegate after November’s 2-2 Europa Conference League draw in Thessaloniki.
Gueye was said to be the victim of chants from the home support during the second half - an incident that sparked an angry response from the Dons bench after Jamie McGrath’s equaliser.PAOK hit back at the claims and dubbed them “a product of imagination” but Pittodrie chiefs stuck to their guns and UEFA launched a probe on November 14.
However, almost two months later, a UEFA spokesman confirmed: “There was an investigation and the disciplinary bodies ultimately closed the proceedings”.
