Just months after the first photo surfaced of Owen Wilson playing a painter who bears a striking resemblance to Bob Ross, the first trailer has arrived for Paint.While the film doesn't appear to be based on Bob Ross' life - who passed away in 1995 at just 52 after complications with lymphoma - the 54-year-old Wilson's character - Vermont painter Carl Nargle - was clearly heavily inspired by Ross.The new film, which hits theaters April 7 from IFC Films, follows Nargle's rise to fame, which is challenged by a talented younger painter with a similar style.
The trailer begins with a paintbrush spreading orange paint on a canvas as Nargle is heard saying, 'It's hard not to feel a little lost as we begin.'He's seen painting a tree in one shot and then he's seen in the woods saying, 'Let's take it all in,' as he hears a bird chirping.
