A paedophile’s attempt to get out of being snared by police failed when his mobile phone rang in his home, after telling cops he had sold it.
Leon Clark tried to sell officers a story that he no longer owned the mobile which connected him to the case detectives had been working on.
However, Clark’s lies were exposed when police rang the number only for them to find it stashed behind a radiator in his house during a search.
Horrific images of young children being sexually abused were recovered on the device, leading to Clark’s arrest. The 46-year-old denied downloading indecent images of children and claimed he had sold his mobile.
