TV presenter Paddy McGuinness decided against attending tonight's National Television Awards, leaving his estranged wife Christine attending alone, despite the pair being nominated together for their documentary Our Family and Autism.
Paddy, 49, is said to have made the decision to stay home due to concerns that his appearance may have been a distraction from the success of his family's documentary. The dad-of-three has since taken to Instagram revealing how he spent the evening, while Christine, 34, attends on their behalf.
Showing off a picture of his dinner, he penned the caption: "Sometimes only a chippy tea will do! Before and after. Chips, pudding, peas and gravy." "That does look quite excellent.
With the added bonus that you won’t be able to talk as you eat it," wrote one fan in Paddy's comments. A second added: "My absolute favourite when I get home up north." While a third wrote: "Can’t beat a chippy tea sometimes Paddy." Meanwhile, Christine looked typically glamorous as she represented their family at the NTAs.
