Paddy McGuinness has revealed he’s not spoken to his former Top Gear co-host Freddie Flintoff in months following his horror crash. The 46-year-old cricket star had a brush with death after crashing in an open-topped Morgan Super 3 car, which had no airbags. The smash took place in December 2022 while Freddie was filming a segment for the BBC motoring show.

Freddie’s vehicle spun out of control while going at 130mph, leaving him with severe facial injuries and several broken ribs.Top Gear was taken off air following the near-fatal incident, with Paddy confessing that he’s struggled to get in touch with Freddie following the accident.

Speaking to the Sun, he said: “Who knows what he must be going through. I still see his wife and we still chat, and we have the same barber, and it's all lovely. “I messaged Fred recently saying, 'Look, I can’t begin to think what you’re going through but rather than me bombarding you with loads of messages, which can be annoying, if you can’t be a***d with that, I’m always here.

I hope you’re well and please God, I’ll see you soon"'. He added: “You just can’t begin to put yourself into his shoes. No one can know what’s going on in his head.” Paddy was also appeared uncomfortable after he was quizzed about the incident during a recent Good Morning Britain appearance with host Susanna Reid.
