Outlander star Caitriona Balfe on 'crazies' who say Sam Heughan is baby's real dad

Outlander star Caitriona Balfe has spoken out about the “crazies” amongst Outlander’s passionate fanbase. The new mum says some of her followers are so convinced she’s in a real life relationship with on screen other half Sam Heughan, she's determined to maintain some privacy for her child.

Caitriona, 42, opened up about the conspiracy theories of a sliver of “obsessed” fans who think Scots hunk Sam is the father of her three-month-old baby.

The actress, who married Scottish music manager Anthony McGill in 2019, revealed one social media user posted that the baby must be Heughan’s because the bedsheets in the picture which announced the tot's arrival were similar to ones that have been spotted in his house.And she claims she’s gotten wind that private investigators have been hired to “solve” the case and prove definitively that she’s involved with Heughan.

In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Caitriona said: “It’s sad, because you meet the loveliest people who are fans of the show and they’re super supportive and they do the nicest things—and then you have that little thing, which just taints it.” Caitriona, who currently stars in Kenneth Branagh’s critically-acclaimed “masterpiece” movie Belfast, admitted she’s protective of her young son, refraining from revealing his name or sharing images of him with fans.She added: “I don’t want those crazies—because that’s what they are—I just don’t want them talking about him.”Former model Caitriona was pregnant while shooting the much-anticipated sixth season of Outlander, which hits screens in March, but managed to keep it under wraps from the public.But she says the news wasn’t something deliberately a secret.She said: “I’m a very open person.“It’s not like I was hiding my
