Outlander's Sam Heughan would love to land Lord of the Rings role

He's best known for playing Highlander Jamie Fraser in the hit show, and now he says he loves the fantasy genre so much that he would really love to land a role in the new Lord of The Rings series.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is an Amazon Prime Video produced prequel series to the famous novels. The show is set thousands of years before the events of JRR Tolkien’s The Hobbit, with a cast of new and old characters facing a rising threat from a long-feared enemy.It was created by Patrick McKay and John D.
Payne and it stars Morfydd Clark, Lenny Henry and Peter Mullan, but the Outlander actor says he would love to be cast too.In a recent interview with Holly Newson for Audible, Sam said he really would jump at the chance to be cast in the show.
