Outlander's Sam Heughan set to play lead in movie adaptation of PlayStation hit
dailyrecord.co.ukOutlander star Sam Heughan is set to play the leading role in a film adaptation of the PlayStation game Days Gone. The Dumfries born actor is best known for his role as Jamie Fraser on the historical fantasy series, and has already lined up his next big screen role.
According to Deadline , Sony PlayStation Productions opted to develop the film after seeing the success Uncharted had at the box office, which grossed around $402 million globally.
Days Gone follows the story of Deacon St John, played by Heughan, a former motorcycle club member-turned-outlaw, who fights against zombie-like humans in a post-apocalyptic world after a pandemic wipes out most of the population.
It isn't clear if this will be the 42-year-old's first role after Outlander Season 7, or if he will film the project between Season 7 and 8, as Starz's hasn't yet renewed the series for another season.
