Outlander'sCatriona Balfe has admitted she is "proud" after she and new film Belfast got a whopping six BAFTA nominations. Caitriona, who has played the role of Claire Fraser in the Starz historical drama, takes a starring role in Kenneth Branagh movie Belfast alongside Jamie Dornan.
The film tells of a family's struggles during the troubles in Belfast through the eyes of nine-year-old Buddy, played by Jude Hill.
Caitriona plays Ma, a devoted wife and mother of two in the film alongside Jamie, who plays the role of the father.The film has now received a host of nominations including for outstanding British film, original screenplay, Best Film, Editing and supporting actor for Ciaran Hinds.It is also rumoured to be in contention for multiple Academy Awards nominations ahead of the ceremony in March.Caitriona will vie for Best Supporting Actress alongside Jessie Buckley in The Lost Daughter, Ariana DeBose in West Side Story, Ann Dowd in Mass, Aunjanue Ellis in King Richard and Ruth Negga in Passing.
Hearing she and the production could be in for some trophies on the big night on March 13, she said: "Thank you @BAFTA for this incredible honour.
