Oscars while British talent swept up several major awards. Anthony Hopkins was named best actor for his role in The Father as an elderly man dealing with memory loss while Daniel Kaluuya won the Oscar for best supporting actor for his Black Panther movie Judas and the Black Messiah.
The 83-year-old, who previously won an Oscar for his role as Hannibal Lecter in The Silence of the Lambs, did not attend the ceremony where he won over the presumed favourite the late Chadwick Boseman who died last year aged 43 following a private four-year battle with colon cancer.
