Oscar winner and Moonstruck star Olympia Dukakis dies aged 89

evoke.ieStar of stage and screen Olympia Dukakis has died at the age of 89. The star, who’s resume included the massive films Moonstruck and Steel Magnolias, passed away at her home in New York City.
Olympia’s brother Apollo confirmed the sad news of her passing on his Facebook page, writing: ‘My beloved sister, Olympia Dukakis, passed away this morning in New York City.
After many months of failing health she is finally at peace and with her [husband] Louis [Zorich].’ Her husband Louis was also an actor, best known for his role in the hit NBC series Mad About You, and had passed away in 2018 aged 93.
