Anora went home with five statuettes Sunday to lead all films at the 97th Academy Awards, including four for its director-producer-screenwriter-editor Sean Baker and Best Actress for Mikey Madison.
That also gave Neon a win among distributors with its five wins for the Palme d’Or winner. The Brutalist took home three awards, good for second place on the night, followed by Dune: Part Two, Emilia Pérez, Wicked with two apiece.
A24 and Netflix got three Oscars each to tie for second, and Universal Pictures and Warner Bros Pictures were the only other distributors to score multiple Academy Awards during Sunday’s show hosted by first-time Conan O’Brien at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
