Oprah Winfrey has shocked fans with her new slimmer figure, after years of struggling with her weight.The TV star stepped out on the 'purple carpet' and flaunted her curves in a fitted dress of the same colour as she attended the premiere of her new movie The Colour Purple.
The 69-year-old looked gorgeous as she posed for photos at the glittering event, accentuating her stunning look with her long hair worn in volumised waves and glam makeup, reports the Mirror.The outing was one of many this week, where she has been promoting the movie's new release.The presenter was nominated for Best Actress in a Supporting Role at the 1986 Academy Awards for her role as Sofia in the original version of The Colour Purple.Oprah has now co-produced the remake of the film with Steven Spielberg, set to hit theaters on Christmas Day.The star has slimmed down considerably after recently sharing her thoughts on weight loss drugs like Ozempic, which is typically used to treat type 2 diabetes in adults.Speaking at a New York City panel for her Oprah Daily's The Life You Want series back in September, she said: "I don't know that there is another public person whose weight struggles have been exploited as much as mine.
One of the things I carried so much shame for, and even when I first started hearing about the weight loss drugs, at the same time I was going through knee surgery and I felt, 'I've got to do this on my own because if I take the drug, that's the easy way out'."She added: "There's a part of me that feels - like I think a lot of people feel with bariatric surgery - that I've got to do it the hard way, I've got to keep climbing the mountains, I've got to keep suffering and I've got to do that because otherwise I somehow cheated
