On the latest episode of Kimmy Kimmel, Oprah opened up about how she lost weight and why she resigned from her position on the board of WeightWatchers.
Oprah worked with WeightWatchers for nearly a decade but decided to leave because she did not want "any conflict of interest." Speaking on the show, ahead of her new ABC special about weight loss drugs airing Monday night, Oprah said: "I decided that because this special was really important to me. "And I wanted to be able to talk about whatever I wanted to talk about and Weight Watchers is now in the business of being a weight health company that also administers drug medications for weight." She added: “I did not want to have the appearance of any conflict of interest.” During the chat with Jimmy Kimmel, Oprah referenced Weight Watchers' recent decision to add weight loss drugs like Wegovy to its program.
After resigning Oprah revealed she donated all of her shares in the company to the National Museum of African American History and Culture.
