Awards Season finally has some twists and turns to contend with before the Oscar nominations are revealed on Tuesday. Today, the 2024 BATA Awards nominations were revealed and snubs and surprises were almost everywhere.
The big news, however, was that Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer” led all films with 13 nominations followed by Yorgos Lanthimos’ “Poor Things” with 11.
READ MORE: “Oppenheimer” and “Succession” top the 2024 SAG Awards nominations Those two films were joined in the five-nominee Best Film category by Martin Scorsese’s “Killers of the Flower Moon,” Justin Triet’s “Anatomy of a Fall,” and, in a surprise, Alexander Payne’s “The Holdovers.” Overall, “Killers of the Flower Moon” and “The Zone of Interest” each scored nine nominations, but the former saw both Scorsese and Lily Gladstone snubbed in Best Director and Lead Actress.
