Ongoing overnight road closures highlighted to Hamilton motorists

South Lanarkshire Council has reminded residents of overnight road closures in Hamilton which began yesterday and will last for one week.The affected areas include the slip road on to Motherwell Road, which is closed from 9.30am until 3.30pm, to enable teams to carry out improvement works.The second phase of major improvement works will see overnight lane closures at the roundabout on Motherwell Road in Hamilton from 6pm this evening (June 9), until 6am tomorrow.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

A diversion will be in place for traffic travelling to Motherwell to allow access to Motherwell Road via Asda Roundabout at Palace Grounds Road slip road.The fifth phase will be from Monday (June 13) at 6pm until Tuesday (June 14) at 6am.

Blackwell Lane will be closed from Motherwell Road roundabout to Townhead Street and traffic will be diverted via Palace Grounds Road, Muir Street, Almada Street, Union Street, Auchincampbell Road, Kemp Street, Gateside Street and Duke Street.The last phase will be
