We’ve been stuck indoors for nearly 18 months, with Covid restrictions making an escape from Alcatraz easier than a summer holiday.
So what have the TV bods decided to rub our noses in? Love Island, filmed in sun-drenched Mallorca with its beautiful contestants.
Mostly shut indoors, or with only our gardens for sunbathing during the rare moments of British sunshine, it’s going to be a depressing watch.
But that’s not the only reason I don’t like Love Island. The online trolling that comes with being part of shows like this is incredibly damaging – which makes me wonder when those in power will realise this is akin to throwing the vulnerable into a lion’s cage.
