Olly Murs has revealed that he is “gutted” that ITV show Starstruck will not be returning for a third season. The show, which launched back in 2022, was established as a modernised version of Stars In Their Eyes and saw contestants performing as musical idols such as Ed Sheeran and Lady Gaga in a bid to win a huge £50,000 prize.
Hosted by 39-yea-old Olly, it saw Sheridan Smith, Adam Lambert, Beverley Knight and Jason Manford become judges for series one.
However, in season two Sheridan, 42, was replaced by Shania Twain and Ronan Keating due to filming commitments elsewhere. Reports that plans for a series three had been shelved by ITV emerged in June following allegations that the broadcaster apparently wanted to try a different show.
But speaking to The Sun about the news at the National Television Awards, Olly said: "Presenting is something I have always loved doing.
