Olivia Rodrigo’s Sour reclaims the top spot on the Official Albums Chart, boosted by its release on vinyl this week. The US star’s record scores fifth non-consecutive stint at the summit, and is the most physically-purchased and most-streamed album in the UK of the week, including 7,800 sales on vinyl.
The sales mean Sour becomes the fastest-selling female debut album on vinyl since 2000, overtaking Billie Eilish’s When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?.
Olivia beats Lorde to this week’s top spot, with the New Zealander’s new album Solar Power landing at Number 2. It’s Lorde’s strongest chart debut in the UK to date, following 2013’s Pure Heroine (4) and 2017’s Melodrama (5).
