Oliver Abildgaard has paid an emotional farewell to Celtic after his season-long stay at Parkhead was cut short. The Danish defensive midfielder signed on loan from Rubin Kazan in the final stages of the summer window but his stint ends in the winter after failing to make an impact in Ange Postecoglou's team.
He made six Premiership appearances and a couple of Champions League cameos while in Glasgow alongside a Viaplay Cup runout, and is now in Italy at Serie A side Hellas Verona.
Moritz Jenz had a similar story this window, joining Schalke in Germany after his minutes during a season-long loan stay from Lorient became slimmer.
And just like his former teammate, Abildgaard has paid tribute to a club he had only started to know fully. He wrote on Instagram: "It all comes to an end, before it even started.
