Official 'please give me space' badges released to help people who can't socially distance

The Government has issued new "Please give me space" badges for people who struggle with social distancing. Official cards which make it clear that the user might have difficulties with the guidance - such as those who are blind or partially sighted - can now be printed off or downloaded for use on mobile phones.

People are advised to stay at least two metres away from others in public spaces to curb the spread of coronavirus. The distance falls to at least one metre if two metres is too difficult - with people advised to take extra precautions such as wearing a face covering.

But campaigners have warned that blind or partially sighted people struggle to maintain the distance and could face abuse. The Royal National Institute of Blind
