Octopus Energy has issued a major update for 1.3 million customers following a big takeover. The provider, which competes with British Gas, OVO, EDF and others, has informed Shell Energy customers that their accounts will be transferred over to Octopus in the coming weeks.
The company says that 750,000 former Shell Energy customers have already had their accounts switched over. All remaining 550,000 customers will be moved to the parent brand by the end of April, according to what the energy firm told the Sun.Birmingham Live reports that last month, Octopus Energy agreed to sell the broadband part of Shell Energy Retail after buying the company in December 2023.
