William John Paul Gallagher (born 21 September 1972) is an English singer and songwriter. He rose to fame as the lead singer of the rock band Oasis in the 1990s and 2000s, and later fronted the rock band Beady Eye in the early 2010s, before beginning a solo career after the dissolution of both bands. One of the most recognisable figures in British music, he is noted for his outspoken and abrasive manner; penchant for wearing parkas; distinctive singing style, in which he elongates vowels; and signature stance on stage, which consists of him holding his arms behind his back and singing up into a downward-facing microphone.

Oasis star Bonehead has announced he is being treated for tonsil cancer.The musician Paul Arthurs, 56, addressed fans in a statement on Twitter and Instagram today.

He wrote: “Just to let you all know I'm going to be taking a break from playing for a while. “I have been diagnosed with tonsil cancer.“But the good news is it's treatable and I will be starting a course of treatment soon. “I will keep you posted how it is going,” he added. “I am gutted I am missing the gigs with Liam and the band.“Have the best summer and enjoy the gigs if you're going.

I'll see you soon xxx.”Paul’s Oasis bandmate Liam Gallagher sent his love to the star following the news of his diagnosis. He wrote: “Sending BIG love to the 1 n only Bonehead and his family. “Wishing you a speedy recovery we’re all thinking of you rasta you’ll be back on stage before you can say r we doing Colombia LG x.” (sic)Erasure’s Andy Bell also commented on Bonehead’s Twitter post, writing: “Get well soon Bone.”His other fans also took to the comments sections to send out messages of love and support.
