Nursery children turned trash into treasure and treated their friends at an older adult's lunch club.Ralston early learning and childcare class have been busy collecting plastic bottles, helped by their friends at Glasgow Road pubs Harveys and the Burgh Bar, and friends and family.They’ve been trading them in to raise money and bought Easter eggs for members of the St Mark’s Church Roar group.
The youngsters from the three to five room went along to deliver the eggs and also gave them Easter cards, sang songs and enjoyed spending time with the Roar members.Lynne Taylor from the nursery said: “At Ralston Early learning and childcare class we try to be involved in our community by helping others, The children have been collecting plastic bottles for some time now which we have been able to swap for vouchers to use in store.Don't miss the latest headlines from around Renfrewshire.
Sign up to our newsletters here.“We have been closely working with our friends at Roar and have previously donated some lovely chocolate biscuits and this time the children have chosen to purchase Easter Eggs.“You get 5p a bottle and we bought 30-odd Easter eggs so we did collect a lot.
We’ve done it as a community with members of the public and previous parents and grandparents donating the cans and bottles.“It was an absolutely amazing afternoon, everyone just loved it.
