A nurse feared she'd be killed after being brutally attacked by a patient who grabbed her head and started 'sawing away' at her neck.

Faisal Janny, 36, shouted 'you will die' as he tried to cut her throat, while she worked a night shift at North Manchester General hospital.

Janny, who has paranoid schizophrenia and was a patient on a mental health ward, was later overheard saying he had attacked the nurse because staff were 'doing his head in'.
