Nurse dies in arms of daughter, 12, after 'losing fight against coronavirus'

A nurse suspected of catching coronavirus died in the arms of her 12-year-old daughter, who is now in foster care, a heartbroken friend says.

Maria Victoria Prado's daughter Alex called 999 tried to resuscitate her mother in a desperate bid to save her life, according to a GoFundMe page set up to support the grieving girl.

It is said that Ms Prado, also known as Vicky, "succumbed to asthma" and it "could have been aggravated by the virus", Kent Live reports.

The mum worked at Elvy Court care home in Sittingbourne, Kent, after being employed in the NHS, and was originally from the Philippines.
