Number of schools in lockdown after 'threat' - just days after Manchester hit by 'malicious communication'

A number of schools have sent out emails to parents informing them that a lockdown has been put in place. Citing a "credible threat" it is not yet clear what exactly has caused schools in Leeds to take this line of action.

The 'soft' lockdown means pupils will be kept inside all day while gates, doors, and windows are closed indefinitely. Some pupils have reportedly been taken out of school by their parents.

It is understood that police are involved and are investigating, Leeds Live reports. This is being investigated by police and officers are providing reassurance and safety advice to affected schools." Some of the schools affected include Sharp Lane Primary and Windmill Primary.
