Naman Ramachandran The U.K. and Ireland box office kicked off 2025 with a robust £94.1 million ($116.6 million) in January, marking a 10% increase from January 2024’s £85.2 million ($105.6 million) and a 12% rise from January 2023, according to numbers from Comscore.

Robert Eggers’ “Nosferatu” led the month’s releases, haunting its way to $15.6 million, establishing itself as the sixth-highest-grossing horror film of all time in the region.

The reimagining of the classic vampire tale surpassed “A Quiet Place” ($15.1 million) and is closing in on “The Final Destination” ($15.9 million).

Disney maintained its market dominance with a 30.8% share in January, claiming the next two spots on the chart. “Mufasa: The Lion King” roared to second place with $15 million for the month, bringing its total to $36.7 million, surpassing “The Little Mermaid’s” lifetime gross of $34 million.
