North Lanarkshire Council has been granted an extension to a temporary road closure concerning Newmains Main Street.The work on the A73 Main Street was due to run from September 30 to December 1.

However, the council has been granted an extension to continue the works until Sunday, December 22.The first part of the closure will concern A73 Main Street from its junction with A722 Manse Road to its junction with School Road.Vehicles on the north side of the closure should proceed via A722 Manse Road, A722 Cambusnethan Street, A722 Kirk Road, A721 Stewarton Street, A721 Wishaw Road, A71 Overtown Road and A73 Main Street.

Vehicles on the south side of the closure wishing access to the north side of the closure should proceed vice versa.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
