Norman Lear is being given a prestigious honor. The 98-year-old television writer and producer will be presented with the Carol Burnett Award at the 2021 Golden Globe Awards, producers announced on Thursday (January 28).
He will be the third-ever recipient and accept the honor during the telecast airing on Sunday, February 28 from 5-8 p.m. PT / 8-11 p.m.
ET live on NBC. “Norman Lear is among the most prolific creators of this generation. His career has encompassed both the Golden Age and Streaming Era, throughout which his progressive approach addressing controversial topics through humor prompted a cultural shift that allowed social and political issues to be reflected in television.
