Apple TV+ series “The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin,” which stars Noel Fielding as the infamous highway bandit, has shut down in the middle of shooting Season 2, Variety has confirmed.
A source close to the project said Season 2 had “ceased production.” Variety understands that the show, which was around three months into the shoot, is highly unlikely to get back off the ground.
Another source said that Apple and production company Big Talk did “everything they could” to finish the series and were “really excited about it.” Consisting of six episodes, the first season of the show launched on the streamer last spring, co-starring Hugh Bonneville, Tamsin Greig and Ellie White.
It was directed by “The Inbetweeners” and “Douglas is Cancelled” helmer Ben Palmer. Fielding was also an exec producer on the project.
