No10 says Boris Johnson's bike ride was 'nothing special' and people should 'go for it'

There is "nothing special" about Boris Johnson travelling seven miles for a bike ride, his press secretary has said. Allegra Stratton added that any member of the public wanting to do the same should "go for it".

Number 10 insisted the Prime Minister acted "within the guidance" by travelling seven miles from No10 to the Olympic Park in Stratford to ride his bike, despite several parks being within walking distance of his home and having private access to the grounds of Buckingham Palace in order to take exercise.
