A proposal to name a Tribeca street after Robert De Niro was reportedly poorly received by some panel members representing Lower Manhattan. According to Page Six, members of Manhattan Community Board #1 weighed in last week after Tribeca Enterprises, which De Niro co-founded, proposed naming the northeast corner of Franklin and Greenwich streets "Robert De Niro Way" to commemorate the actor's 80th birthday.

A Los Angeles judge on Wednesday sentenced the man convicted of gunning down Nipsey Hussle to 60 years to life in prison after hearing testaments to the immense cost of the killing of the hip-hop star and neighbourhood leader, and of the lifetime of mental illness, abuse and struggle of the man who shot him.

Nipsey Hussle.Superior Court Judge H Clay Jacke II delivered the sentence yesterday (February 22), consisting specifically of 25 years to life for murder, an additional 25 for employing firearm enhancements, and 10 more years for voluntary manslaughter after injuring two bystanders at the crime scene.  Per an Associated Press report, Holder was not eligible for the death penalty.The sentence brings a conclusion to Holder’s trial, which began in June 2022. Three years prior, Hussle – born Ermias Joseph Asghedom – was fatally shot in March 2019 outside the Marathon Clothing store he founded in Los Angeles.
