Nine men were arrested following reports of tragedy chanting at the recent match between Liverpool and Manchester City at Anfield.
The two Premier League giants played a key game in the title race on Sunday afternoon (December 1). Following the match, Merseyside Police made a series of arrests on suspicion of tragedy chanting, which is a public order offence.
One man has since been charged and is due to appear in court. Kian Holt, 19, of Weeton Road, Medlar-with-Wesham in Lancashire, was charged with a public order offence under S3 Football Offence Act 1991 (tragedy chanting).
He will appear at Sefton Magistrates Court on January 8, 2025.
