Night buses will be rolled out in parts of Greater Manchester as part of a trial later this year. Andy Burnham revealed that plans for a pilot scheme are being prepared during the Night Time Economy Summit on Thursday (February 8).
The Greater Manchester mayor told an audience at Depot Mayfield about the pilot. He said: "For the first time in a long time, we're talking about running night buses in Greater Manchester.
We think we can stack up a night offer." Speaking to the Manchester Evening News afterwards, Mr Burnham said the trial is set to start 'certainly this year, hopefully the middle of this year'.
He said his vision is for all-night bus services on routes across Greater Manchester. Try MEN Premium now for FREE... just click here to give it a go. There are already some night buses available in the city-region, but most of them serve south Manchester and surrounding areas.
