Long before she became a star in the U.S. and an Oscar winner for “The Hours,” Kidman was an aspiring actor in Australia and said her height was often challenged during auditions as a teen. “I was told, ‘You won’t have a career.
You’re too tall,'” Kidman said. At one open audition for a role in “Annie,” Kidman remembered actors were being measured for their height at the door.
Performers who were too tall were being instantly rejected, so she had to fight her way into the casting room. “I had to talk my way through the door because they were measuring you before you went in.
