Nicolas Cage is reportedly set to portray Joe Exotic in a new scripted series centred on the Tiger King star. The former GW Zoo owner was catapulted into overnight stardom when the original six-part series, focusing on his failed business ventures and his long-running feud with Carole Baskin, dropped on Netflix in March.

And now another series is set to be released, and is based on the Texas Monthly article "Joe Exotic: A Dark Journey Into the World of a Man Gone Wild," by Leif Reigstad.

Produced by Imagine Television Studios and CBS Television Studios, the eight-episode series will feature the American actor as the zany big cat enthusiast, according to Variety magazine.
