Celebrity Gogglebox's Nick Grimshaw has revealed he has to "go outside" when bosses make him watch "traumatic" thrillers. The TV presenter, who returns for his fifth series of the celebrity spin-off on 16th June, will be inviting Channel 4 back into his home for another round of telly-watching alongside his niece Liv.
Speaking to OK! and other press, the former Radio 1 presenter said that he struggles to stomach anything frightening on the show. “I do find [something like] Luther terrifying because that’s in London on the bus, and I get on the bus.
So that for me is scarier than Saw [the film],” the 38-year-old said. “We’ve not got to a moment where we’ve refused to watch but there’s been moments where we’ve watched stuff and it’s been traumatic and we’ve had to go outside for a minute.” Speaking about his four years on the Channel 4 hit, he said that he gets to watch shows he would never usually choose. "Gogglebox manages to find the weirdest TV shows ever like stuff where you're like, 'I can't believe that got made.' You'll watch it and really enjoy it because it's stuff that I've never normally watch. "When anything's really jumpy, I'd never watch a horror film out of choice.
I'd never watch anything scary or anxiety-inducing. I don't know why anyone would want to feel fear in their own house — I don't get it.
