Nick Grimshaw ‘cried alone’ when he heard Caroline Flack had died by suicide

Nick Grimshaw has opened up about the moment he heard the news that Caroline Flack had died, admitting he went and cried alone.

The presenter, 35, was in his car heading to the gym when the news was read out on the radio, before driving home to cry on his own.

He told The Guardian: ‘It’s really hard to take. We weren’t best friends, but we were close and we’d speak all the time. We’d spoken earlier that week.  ‘We had plans to hang out, and I’d been messaging her when all the s**t had gone down.

She was going through a tough time.’  Caroline’s death by suicide in February came not long before she was due in court over an alleged assault on her boyfriend, Lewis Burton, something Lewis did not support but which the CPS decided to pursue
