Nick Carter is celebrating a win in his legal battle against singer Melissa Schuman. If you recall, Melissa is suing Nick for allegedly raping her in 2002, and she and her father had attempted to block Nick from countersuing her for defamation.
According to TMZ, the judge has sided with Nick. Keep reading to find out more… The outlet says that the judge has ruled in favor of Nick, who was in court in Las Vegas to hear it.
The judge stated that Nick had “presented sufficient evidence to warrant his defamation case moving forward.” “For years, Melissa and Jerome Schuman have been conspiring with anyone they could manipulate to drum up false claims against Nick Carter in a brazen attempt to get rich off of him,” Liane K.
Wakayama, Nick‘s attorney, shared in a statement to TMZ. “Today’s ruling confirms that Nick will be able to pursue that truth to its inevitable conclusion and expose the Schumans’ and their co-conspirators’ deceit and deplorable conduct.” Melissa, who was part of the musical group Dream, claimed the Nick raped her at a friend’s apartment in Santa Monica in 2002. Nick is also involved in a few other lawsuits that accuse him of sexual assault.
