Nicholas Hoult opened up about losing out on playing Batman to Robert Pattinson. The 34-year-old actor is making his debut is DC’s film franchise playing Lex Luthor in 2025′s Superman.

However, he auditioned to play the infamous Caped Crusader in 2022′s The Batman. Of course, the role ultimately went to Robert, who will reprise it in a forthcoming sequel.

In a new interview, Nicholas recalled the process of trying out for the movie. He also spoke candidly about showing up to audition for a second DC project after missing out on the first.
