Newcastle United are preparing a mammoth bid in order to try and snare Kieran Trippier away from Manchester United, according to the latest reports.
Trippier has been linked with a move to Old Trafford as he reaches the last 18 months of his deal at Atletico Madrid. The England international was thought to have been close to a move to United in the summer, having made plans for a return to the Premier League before Atletico slapped a hefty price tag on him to ward off any bids.
And should United want to revisit their interest in January, they may face some serious competition from Newcastle as the Magpies look to splash the cash following their Saudi takeover.
